Our Indian Youth Community

"There is no power for change greater than a community

discovering what it cares about."

– Margaret J. Wheatley

As a club, we learnt very early on in our journey that true impact can only be achieved when we work hand in hand with others in our ecosystem. Recognising that we are a community with possibilities, with differing gifts and assets, SYC embarked on the journey of convening and stewarding the wider Indian Youth ecosystem in 2019. We organised the inaugural Indian Youth Conference to address the important challenge of transforming the isolation and self-interest within our communities into connectedness and caring for the whole.

We began the process of articulating our collective aspirations for our community and build commitment toward working to achieve collaborative impact. It was an opportunity to connect with old and new community leaders and friends in the community, discover what gives life to our community, who we are when we are at our best and the collective gifts, strengths and assets that enable us to serve with intention and impact.

IYC

We continue to nurture symbiotic relationships with the various Indian Youth Clubs and Societies in the ecosystem by providing resources and skills to elevate the collective capacity of our youth leaders to design and deliver effective programmes and initiatives for the community and nation. We invite you to join us in expanding the space for all. Get in touch with us if you would like to:

IYC 2020

IYC 2020: Ignite your voice. Be The Change, an online conference that strives to harness the perspectives of current and emerging Indian youth leaders to create initiatives targeted at the Indian youth community.

This two-day online conference featured facilitated discussions on the impact of COVID-19 on employment and mental health for Indian Youths and how we can continue to engage each other through the pandemic.

The IYC Community

Voices from the IYC Community

When I was offered the opportunity to come on-board in last year's planning team for IYC 2020, I did not have to think twice before joining as I had already participated as an enthusiastic participant in IYC 2019 and therefore understood the significance of having a common platform and safe space for all Indian organisations to come together and discuss on trends, imperative issues and comprehend the urgent and ever-changing needs of the youth and our communities. IYC 2020 offered me a unique chance to work together with some of the best minds from SINDA Youth Club (SYC) and Narpani Pearavai Youth and formulate discussions and content to address some of the pain points and room for improvement in our communities and youth space. IYC offers a holistic platform to allow Indian youth to voice concerns, pool resources and share knowledge while exploiting the natural synergy between the organisations.
